National Conference on Recent Trends in Engineering and Technology [nCORETech] is planned to be organised every year from 2013 and on every fifth year as an International Conference. The objective of nCORETech is to bring together the academicians, scientists, researchers and engineers from institutions and industries to a common platform to interact and share their knowledge and experience. The conference will also provide a very good exposure to recent advancements in technologies. The keynote lectures scheduled in the conference, to be delivered by reputed personalities from industries, R&D organizations and academic institutions, will help in motivating the participants for starting and strengthening research activities in new frontiers of Science and Technology.

Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Engineering, Kasaragod was established in the year 1993 under the auspices of L. B. S Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram which is a Govt. of Kerala undertaking. At present, the College is offering eight Under Graduate and four Post Graduate programmes and has student strength of more than 2000. The college is affiliated to Kannur University and approved by AICTE. The 52 acre wide campus is located at Povval, which is 12km away from Kasaragod city. The nearest Airport is Mangalore, about 75 km away from the College.

Lying at the northern tip of Kerala, bounded by the Western Ghats in the east and Arabian Sea in the west and twelve rivers flowing across its terrain, Kasaragod is an enchanting beauty of Nature's creations. World renowned for its coir and handloom industries, Kasaragod has a 293 kilometre long coastline. This tranquil place is famous as the land of gods, sea-kissed forts, majestic hills, rivers and delightful beaches. Rich in history, Kasaragod is home to the largest and best preserved fort in the State of Kerala – the Bekal fort. Kasargod offers a variety of patterns of arts which speaks volumes about the rich cultural heritage of the regions. It is also a land of different languages. Tulu, Kannada, Malayalam, Konkani, Tamil and other local languages are popular. Though the people speak different languages there is no barrier on the cultural unity. Mosques, Temples and Churches stand side by side as symbols of communal cohesion.
